Off-Camera lighting system used in the workshops
The lighting system we use as professional photographers is Godox. Godox is the premier system for off camera lighting regardless of your camera brand. It will function seamlessly with Sony, Canon, Nikon, Fuji, Olympus and Panasonic. The beauty of Godox is it uses a universal transmission system, the strobes are wireless with lithium ion power and no cords. Lighting color is extremely accurate and it is the only system that has a fully integrated ecosystem with on camera flashes that can control an entire ecosystem of strobes, or be taken off camera and used as strobes. Their transmitters are very durable, reliable and easy to use even with no experience. We love Godox and though the techniques we teach can be applied to any off camera lighting system our workshops will teach proficiency in this system. We will also have extra transmitters for each brand of camera so that students can learn and use the lighting equipment with their own cameras.
Aaron Ashley loves their lighting so much in fact that he started a photography lighting store, www.illuminatilightsandstrobes.com , which is based out of Edmonton and specializes in Godox.
Bonus
At each of our workshops there will be a prize of a Godox v860ii lithium ion speedlight, a rapid deploy softbox, a x-pro transmitter and a light stand given away to the photographer with the top photograph from the class as voted on by the other students and the instructors. Everything you need to start doing off camera flash photography and apply the techniques you will learn in the workshop.

Aaron Ashley
“I am a multi-media artist that believes that great photography tells a story. This story is expressed through composition, forms, angles and lighting. In my travels I have shot every kind of photography imaginable, studio, concert, travel, fashion – pretty much if you show me a photo I can break it down to exactly what has been done to achieve that image.
While Corey will be focusing on softbox usage, selection and positioning as well as how to feather light to balance your subject with your background, I will focus on some of the technical aspects of off camera lighting. Discussing such thing as light color, lens selection and depth of field, as well as how light can be used to tell the story of your photograph and get your Instagram popping with the techniques that top-influencers use.
I can’t wait to meet you in person and share my love of photography to help you reach the next stage of your journey in photography!”
Corey Sinclair
